County commissioners approve $194M ‘surgical demolition’ of downtown records building

The Dallas County Commissioners Court moved one step closer to launching a nearly $200 million “surgical demolition” and renovation of the historic Dallas County Records Building downtown. The commissioners’ hope is that once the work is complete, the building will function as a one-stop shop for county residents’ needs by housing a variety of government agencies.
