October is Dallas County Employee Retirement Readiness Month. Since 2016, the County has recognized this month per an annually-renewed resolution from the Dallas County Commissioner’s Court.

Dallas County shows its commitment to helping its employees plan for retirement through direct advice and group seminars. The County offers employees guidance by answering questions via phone or email, with a special push each October. The County also provides opportunities for group meetings and one-on-one consultations with Nationwide and offers two Retirement Seminars in the fall and spring.

Since the first Dallas County Employee Retirement Readiness Month in 2016, over 1,100 employees have enrolled in the 457 (b) Deferred Compensation plan, the number of employees that are actively deferring is up 30 percent and total assets in the plan are up 27 percent.
