Ryan Companies, the general contractor for Dallas County’s new Oak Cliff Government Center located at 702 East Jefferson Blvd., confirmed that the project is scheduled for completion in Aug. 2021, which is two months ahead of the team’s initially-projected completion date. 

Ryan Companies’ Jim Bradberry said that, today, the construction team installed the final panel of precast concrete member of the parking garage that sits adjacent to the two-story, 43,000-square-foot and LEED-certified government center. The glass-curtain wall that surrounds the government center was completed this month, and the installation of all surrounding veneers should be complete by April 12. The project team completed the installation of the facility’s interior drywall on March 15 and began painting the interior of the government center on March 23. 

Dallas County leaders toured the project site yesterday, and Bradberry said they were pleased with the project’s progress. 

Second-chance workers part of the same Regional Black Contractors Association program through which workers were recruited to build Dallas County’s new Elections Operations Facility continue to provide valuable project contributions such as demolition services. Additionally, in line with the county’s stated goal of leading the way in opportunity creation for local minority-owned firms, the project team reached 52% participation from Minority & Women-Owned Business Enterprise (MWBE) firms such as drywall, heavy highway and general construction contractor Post L Group.   

The government center’s construction commenced in June 2020, and in Aug. 2020, Dallas County hosted a celebratory groundbreaking ceremony. Employees part of Dallas County’s Justice of the Peace, Truancy, Constable and Tax Departments anticipate moving into the new facility in Sept. 2021.
